Café and EspressoValley General Hospital’s cafeteria is the Trax Edge Café (named for the railroad tracks that can be seen from any window) and is open daily for patients, staff and visitors. Offerings include breakfast, SBC espresso, lunch and dinner, baked goods, salad bar, soups and short order grill items. Hours: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday through Friday AdmittingMain Admitting is located adjacent to the hospital Main Lobby.
Outpatient Admitting is located in the Medical Office Building.
Emergency Department Care Social ServicesValley General Hospital provides a Social Services representative who acts as an information specialist for our patients. Social Services can assist patients by arranging: hospice services, living arrangements and access to necessary equipment such as walkers and crutches. Social Services is available to all patients who qualify for assistance. Pastoral CareFunded by the Valley General Hospital’s foundation, the hospital provides a chaplain who is a member of the Hospital Chaplains Ministry Association. HCMA,, founded in 1939, is a nonsectarian organization that recruits, trains, certifies and places Chaplains in healthcare organizations worldwide. HCMA Chaplains are recognized by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations ( JCAHO) as legitimate providers of spiritual care within hospitals and other heathcare organizations. The hospital chaplain is on call for emergencies or families in crisis, and he is available to staff if they desire. Billing OfficeAll financial and cost accounting for the hospital takes place in accounting office. To contact someone in the billing office if you have questions about a bill, please call 360-794-1495. Gift ShopThe Joyce Stewart Gift Shop is operated by Guild members and volunteers. The gift shop is located in Valley General Hospital’s Main Lobby. The shop offers items such as: cards, gifts, flowers, jewelry and snack foods. Each year the gift shop donates approximately $10,000 to the hospital. Hours: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Friday Smoking and Tobacco Use PolicyValley General Hospital will be a smoke and tobacco-free campus beginning January 1, 2011. As a health care organization, we are committed to the wellness of our employees, patients and visitors. We believe we are responsible for a leadership role on this major health issue, and allowing people to smoke on our campuses defeats this purpose. Our medical staff is committed to this new policy and will be prescribing their patients nicotine-replacement options during their stay.
