Inpatient Psychiatric Treatment Unit
The Inpatient Psychiatric Treatment Unit at Valley General Hospital is a comprehensive inpatient program for adults. To make a referral, or for more information, call 360-794-1443. We specialize in psychiatry and specifically neuropsychiatry in adults. The goal of treatment is to provide a safe and therapeutic environment for adults who are experiencing a crisis. The average length of stay is 9 to 12 days.
We utilize a multidisciplinary Treatment Team approach. The team includes the psychiatrists, licensed independent practitioners, a Case Manager, nurses and nursing assistants. Physical Therapists, Pharmacists, a pastoral counselor and dieticians are also available as needed. These professionals all work together to assess the patient, and with the patient and family’s input, formulate a plan for treatment.
Our “therapeutic community” treatment model emphasizes a safe, structured environment where open communication is encouraged and support is offered which promotes well-being and getting you back to living your life again.
